Spurred on by recent macro photography exploits at cakesniffers and ship creak I wandered around the garden looking for suitable subjects. Now I am one great big jessy when in comes to insects - as Mrs. edwaado and the little edwaados can testify - so I was not without some trepidation that I took these pics. (You might like to know that I actually took around 15, most of the blurred and out of focus due to my preferred technique of holding the camera at arms length whilst looking the other way)

I know what you mean about these things: you feel all brave because you've got your camera to protect you, but as soon as they so much as twitch, you run a mile!
Great pictures.
I don't mind insects it's rodents and snakes that I run from. However, having said that I was holding a frog yesterday and threw the octopus that got caught in the prawn trap back in the ocean.
